05.03.2011- The Royal Oak, Ipswich
JONATHAN MARRIOTT - "UNPLUGGED"

"Off stage and in the company of friends this young man is quiet, unassuming, polite and self effacing, yet put a guitar in his hand and stand him on a stage, a mic in front of his face, and the performer within is let loose.

...A very talented man, with great voice, huge stage presence and one of great moments of the night was when covering the BILLY BRAGG classics TO HAVE AND TO HAVE NOT - the crowd sang the chorus at the top of their lungs and his face lit up like a beacon - a truly magic moment - made even more special by the fact this guy has played some very sizable venues in places near and far yet he still is touched by interactions like this at a very local pub gig.

What a way to get things going!!  A great set and a reception to match!"

03.04.2012- Live show/EP Review

"Jonathan is a Solo Acoustic-folk-rock Musician from Halesworth, Suffolk.

He is an incredibly talented songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, and has played in various bands over so many different locations, in the UK and in America! I heard about him through friends who started a band (in which he is a
temporary Bassist) and I have only seen him live once, but that will be changing! He has a FREE 3 track EP out (which I will put a link to below). The songs he writes are very political (like a lot of other folk rock writers!) But
they are powerful and great songs!

The songs are well structured, and seeing him live, he has a stage presence about him that is rare to come across with a lot of solo musicians. It is entirely different listening to the EP, than seeing him live, not just because on the EP it isn’t just him, but the feeling and the vocals sound different, and more powerful live in my personal opinion. Jonathan is likely to get very far with what he does, especially with how consistent he sounds. Keep an eye out for him nearby soon, I’m sure it won’t take him long!"

11/08/2012 Gig in the Park, Halesworth
Jonathan Marriott delivers great songs with enough conviction to wake an early afternoon festival audience on a hot sunny day from their picnic blankets. A great new talent and an equally nice guy to work with.
